Splatoon Raiders is getting another spotlight from Nintendo
Nintendo shared a new look at Splatoon Raiders during today’s Nintendo Direct, and the timing makes sense. The game is only a few weeks away from launch, with Nintendo confirming a July 23 release for the Switch 2 exclusive.
According to the new trailer, it focuses on more of the game’s third-person shooter PvE action. That matters because Splatoon Raiders is a PvE spin-off, which puts it in a lane that feels very Nintendo-friendly. Instead of competitive pressure, we get a setup that seems built around playing through the game itself, and that could make it a much easier sell for players who do not care about PvP.
For us, that is probably the biggest angle here. A PvE Splatoon game could open the door for younger players and for anyone who just wants to enjoy a story, take their time, and be able to pause and save without worrying about other players coming at them. That kind of approach is right down Nintendo’s alley, and it could help the game reach people who usually bounce off the series because they are not interested in multiplayer competition.
The source also notes that this is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, which gives the game an important early identity on the new system. With the release date now set and another trailer out in the wild, Nintendo is clearly starting to build momentum for launch.
