Perspective-Swapping Puzzle Platformer Dodo Duckie! Heads to Xbox Series on July 23

Dodo Duckie! waddles onto Xbox Series this July

2D and 3D perspective-swapping puzzle platformer Dodo Duckie! is now set to launch on Xbox Series as well as PC on July 23, publisher SoloGame and developer BornMonkie announced.

The game was previously announced for PC on Steam. It is also coming to PC through the Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store.

A demo is available now on both console and PC.

What Dodo Duckie! is about

The game follows Dodo the Duck, who leaves a peaceful farm after aliens abduct all of his chicken friends. From there, the search expands into a cozy adventure full of puzzles, collectibles, and shifting perspectives.

According to the developer, players will move between 2D and 3D views to uncover new paths, reveal hidden areas, and solve puzzles. The game also includes hats, coins, and a range of characters designed to add humor and variety to the journey.

Key features highlighted by the developer

  • Perspective switching: flip between 2D and 3D to progress through levels.
  • Three distinct worlds: including mountain farms, snowy lakes, and space-themed areas.
  • New mechanics: each world adds elements such as freezing, shooting, and gravity tricks.
  • Character-driven style: the cast includes Capie, a cap-selling capybara who gives Dodo the Dimensional Dual Switcher.
  • Customization: Dodo can wear different hats.

Why the Xbox Series release matters

The new console announcement broadens access for players who want a puzzle platformer that mixes relaxed pacing with genre-bending level design. The game’s appeal appears to sit in its blend of approachable traversal, visual charm, and perspective-based problem solving.

BornMonkie says Dodo Duckie! draws inspiration from classics such as Paper Mario, Fez, and Gris.
