What’s New in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Ubisoft has just announced the last content update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This is it, folks. Version 1.1.11 is rolling out now and it brings some exciting new elements to the game.

New Story Quest: Black Tides

First up, there’s a new end-game story quest called Black Tides. This quest becomes available after you complete Naoe and Yasuke’s main story. Sounds like a solid way to wrap things up, right?

In Black Tides, you’ll face off against two elite-level Templars known as the “Black Cross”, who have their own agenda in Japan. Your job? Keep them from getting what they want while trying to stay alive. It’s classic Assassin’s Creed, and I can’t wait to see how this plays out!

Crossover Projects: Riptides and Undertow

The update also introduces two crossover projects in the Animus Hub, called Riptides and Undertow. By completing these, you can unlock fresh rewards that work in both Assassin’s Creed Shadows and the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

To start these Projects, just complete Anomalies like you’ve done before. Keep in mind the crossover goodies won’t be available on the Nintendo Switch 2, since Black Flag Resynced isn’t launching for that console.

New Gameplay Feature: Domains

Now onto something that sounds pretty intense—Domains. This is a new feature packed with challenges that’s going to test your skills. There are five gameplay simulations to tackle, each with ten levels of difficulty.

Unlocking this new feature requires you to reach level 30. MOD, an Assassin hacker, has cooked up these simulations as a way for players to refine their combat and survival skills. The rewards include a chunk of classic Assassin’s Creed weapons, which is always a nice touch.

You’ll need to switch up your strategies as each Domain comes with its own modifiers. What works in one might not work in another. So, be ready to adapt!

Exciting New Animus Rift: Horizon

Another new feature arriving in this update is the Animus Rift: Horizon. Sounds ominous, right? The Eagle has some intel to share about it, but you’ll need to finish the previous two Rifts to unlock this one.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

As with any good update, there are a ton of bug fixes and gameplay improvements included. A few highlights:

  • Damage from Shurikens fired from certain tools is increased.
  • Some enemy abilities have been toned down to balance gameplay.
  • Several UI fixes have been implemented to make everything look and feel better.
  • The perk adjustments will help balance out gameplay as well.

Final Thoughts

This update feels like a pretty good way to say goodbye to Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The addition of Black Tides, new crossover content, and gameplay challenges adds depth to the final moments of the game. And, hey, if you’re still playing and enjoying it, this is a juicy treat to sink your teeth into!

So, what do you think? Are you ready to dive back in and tackle these new quests? Let me know how it goes and if you find any cool secrets while you’re at it!
