Crimson Desert’s latest patch adds a new mini-game layer

Crimson Desert has rolled out version 1.10.00, and the headline change is a pinball mini-game now available in the open-world action RPG. Pearl Abyss says the update is available to all platforms and also adds Orb Roll, new mount options and quality-of-life changes to Re-Blockade.

The update may sound playful on paper, but it also points to a broader live-service strategy: give players more reasons to revisit familiar hubs, earn extra rewards and spend more time in the world between major story beats.

Where to find the new mini-games

The new pinball machine is located in the inn near Delesyia Academy. Players earn coins by playing, and those coins can be exchanged for items.

Orb Roll has also been added. That activity is found at the Great Gate of Urdavah, and it too rewards players with items.

Why this update could help Crimson Desert

New minigames can be a smart way to break up the pace of an open-world RPG. They can make towns and strongholds feel more alive, and they give players a reason to stop and interact with spaces that might otherwise be passed through quickly.

That said, there is always a risk. If the rewards feel more tempting than the core combat or exploration, mini-games can pull attention away from the main adventure. For some players, that is welcome variety. For others, it can make the game feel busier without deepening the action-RPG systems.

Re-Blockade gets another pass

Pearl Abyss says it has improved the flow around Re-Blockade by adding “combat” and “reconstruction” phases, according to a machine translation of its update note. Players can also request protection at major strongholds to prevent Re-Blockades from happening there.

That could be useful for players who want less disruption in key areas. It may also make the system easier to understand and manage, especially for players returning after a break.

Baby wyverns and Kuku Pet Chicks join the roster

The patch also adds wyverns as mounts and introduces Kuku Pet Chicks as pets. Pearl Abyss says that if players feed the baby Kuku and baby Wyvern and they reach a certain growth level, they can be registered as special mounts.

For players who like collection systems, this is likely to be one of the more appealing parts of the update. For players focused on combat or travel efficiency, special mounts may also add a practical reason to engage with the new growth mechanics.

What comes next for Crimson Desert

Pearl Abyss also shared plans for future content earlier this week, including confirmation that DLC is in development. The studio said it wants to refine the coherence of key scenes to improve the narrative flow of Kliff’s journey.

Playable characters Damiane and Oongka are also set for an improved gameplay experience, with the goal of making sure all three playable characters share the spotlight. Other planned quality-of-life updates include cross-save across PC, PlayStation and Xbox, plus changes to trading and farming.

Full patch notes are available on the official Crimson Desert website, according to Pearl Abyss. The company also shared the update on its official game account.
